When you take time for yourself, know that you are creating the space you need to live a good life. So, prioritizing self-care is what allows you to live your life smoothly, and bring your best to whatever preferences and challenges come your way.
How to prioritize yourself:
Dedicate a few minutes a day to yourself
This would not slow down your productivity, instead, it will increase it. Take time to relate with yourself and pay attention to what you require. It can be, writing a journal, walking in the park, or reading a book. No matter what it is include it as a key part of your day.
Be kind to yourself
Recognize that you are doing the best you can do. As we know, the comparison is the stealer of joy. So walk your steps, and be kind to yourself when you begin winding down the comparison trap in your way.
Be realistic
If your to-do list is long, the night before, identify the top three things you want to attain the next day. Breaking it down into small, attainable steps will guarantee you see progress and feel a sense of accomplishment.
Eat right
There’s nothing worse than feeling awful, and then worsening the feeling by fuelling your body with junk foods. Plan for your healthy meals, and choose the foods that feed you best, so you can achieve your best.
Observe how you talk to yourself
Spend at least a day listening to the way you speak to yourself. Is it positive self-talk in a loving way? Or are you constantly blaming yourself? From now onwards, when you feel down, talk to yourself as you would your best friends on their worst day.
Stay away from social media
Constant bombarding of filtered lives is not particularly helping to have a positive frame of mind. So switch off all of your apps, and have some face-to-face interactions with people around.
Sleep enough
The benefits of a good night’s sleep are countless. So set yourself up for at least 8 hours of high-quality sleep.
Find what matters to you
As we are so bombarded by messages, it’s easy to know what everyone else is looking for. Either it is abs or a role in a movie. It is great if they matter to you too, but just because these things matter to someone else does not mean you need to add them to your priority list too.
